Tehran (IP)- Iran and Nigeria have inked nine cooperation Memoranda of Understanding in culture, tourism, oil, agriculture, sports, and trade fields.

Iran PressIran news: A high-ranking delegation from Nigeria headed by the country's Foreign Minister arrived in Tehran on June 6 to hold talks with Iranian officials, including Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Reza Fatemi-Amin. 

The sixth meeting of the Joint Commissions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federal Republic of Nigeria was held today in Tehran with Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, and Zubairu Dada, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria. 

Delivering a speech, Nigerian Minister of state for Foreign affairs Zubairu Dada said: "Today fruitful talks were held with the first vice president and other Iranian officials."
Zubairu Dada said several agreements were signed to strengthen and promote relations between the two countries. 

"Our reappearance here is our commitment to the implementation of agreements and contracts,"Dada said. 

Nigerian trading-political delegation to arrive in Tehran 

He stated that Nigeria attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran because there are good capacities. If we use these capacities, it will be in the interest of both countries. 

Zubairu Dada said: "Despite the opportunities and close relations between the two countries, the economic relations between the two countries are not satisfactory and are not in a good position." Given the sixth term of the joint commission of the two countries, I hope this commission will be a basis for the development of economic relations between Iran and Nigeria." 

During the visit, the Nigerian trade delegation will attend several meetings hosted by the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) to discuss areas of common interest for increasing trade exchanges with Iranian businessmen, the TPO portal reported.
Also, numerous agreements and MOUs will be signed between the two sides during the visit of the Nigerian delegation for the expansion of economic relations.
