Tehran(IP)- The interior ministers of Iran and Iraq signed a memorandum of cooperation focusing on holding the Arbaeen rituals.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's high-ranking officials have held extensive talks with Iraqi officials in recent weeks to hold Arbaeen rituals as glorious as possible.

The issue of vaccinating pilgrims, issuing visas, and providing facilities, including mawakib, has been raised in consultation with Iranian and Iraqi officials.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Ministry of Interior of Iraq regarding the Arbaeen rituals was signed by the Ministers of Interior of both countries.

According to Iran Press, the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation was held today (Tuesday) after a meeting between the two delegations at the Ministry of Interior and was attended by Ahmad Vahidi and Othman Al-Ghanmi, the interior ministers of Iran and Iraq.

The focus of this memorandum is on issues related to the Arbaeen rituals, including health, housing, security, visas, traffic, and transportation.

The Mawakib are key medium through which the governance of the Arbaeen rituals operates. Along the road to Karbala, thousands of Mawakibs are organized to provide pilgrims with a wide range of free services including food, beverage, lodging, religious training, medical services, free international phone call, and almost everything one may need in their path toward Karbala. The central idea regarding Mawkib is that people partake in both the pilgrimage as well as serving devotees.
