Tabriz (IP) - Iran's President says his administration is determined to reform the corruption-making structures and cut off privilege-seeking in the country.

Iran PressIran news: Taking a trip to Eastern Azerbaijan province, northwestern Iran, Ebrahim Raisi said on Thursday that the administration started its career by following up on two goals that are the protection of people's lives amid the coronavirus pandemic and boosting their livelihood.

Iran's President held a meeting with the elites, scholars, families of martyrs, and other groups of people of Eastern Azerbaijan on Thursday.

Addressing different strata of people in a speech, Raisi expressed hope that the government's actions to practice economic reforms would work to cut off the hands of the corruptors and stressed that his cabinet was determined to reform the corruption-making structure in the country's bodies.

One of the anticorruption reforms taken by the administration of president Raisi was the regulation of the subsidies and omission of the preferential currencies; in this regard, the Vice President, Mohammad Mokhber, told Iran Press on Wednesday that the mandate was carried out to balance the fair distribution of the subsides among the people.

Many took advantage of this currency but did not import goods, and the difference between the prices set by the administration and the price of the goods in the market increased the prices, leading to corruption.

Raisi then highlighted the medical victory of Iran over the corona pandemic, and said: "The day the administration took office, 700 Iranian families daily were grieved, and today the Ministry of Health announced that we reached a day with zero deaths."

The president appreciated the medical staff for their endeavor to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Iran's Ministry of Health said for the first time after 27 months, no patient with COVID 19 has died in the country in the past 24 hours, leaving the total number of deaths at 141,318.
