Gaza (IP) – A Hamas official described Imam Khomeini as a supporter of the idea of the Islamic Revolution and the issue of Palestine.

In the meantime, the role of Imam Khomeini's leadership in the victory of the Islamic Revolution was prominent, and his ideas have been influential outside the borders of Islamic Iran.

In an interview with Iran Press' correspondent in Gaza about the personality and thoughts of Imam Khomeini, Ismail Rizwan said: "After the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the first step of Imam Khomeini was to dismantle the embassy of the Zionist regime in Tehran and turn it into the embassy of Palestine."

With the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran played a vital role in keeping the issue of Palestine and Quds alive, and he always emphasized the issue of Palestine as the central issue of the Islamic world until his death in his speeches and messages.

According to Rizwan, Imam Khomeini also designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day to remind Muslim generations of their role in liberating Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque; in the meantime, he has always been a supporter of Islamic unity.

"The intellectual and revolutionary dimension of Imam Khomeini's personality has influenced the region and the world and has been a supporter of the Palestinian resistance, which continues to this day," he added.

"Imam Khomeini has always emphasized the unity of the ummah and the Islamic world to support the Palestinian cause, and we need to form the largest Islamic-Arab group led by the Axis of Resistance to formulate the project of the liberation of Palestine," Rizwan concluded.
