Tehran(IP): The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of South Africa, emphasized that Iranian women have high capabilities in various fields, inviting African countries to cooperate in the programs on Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment proposed by Iran.

Iran PressIran News: The Islamic Republic of Iran has been appointed as the chair of the UN Committee on Promoting Women's Economic Empowerment in the Indian Ocean Rim.

"Iranian women have high potential in various fields," said Ensieh Khazali, vice president for women and family affairs, during a meeting with South Africa's International Relations and Cooperation Deputy Minister Ms. Candith Mashego-Dlamini.

In this meeting, Khazali pointed to the capabilities of Iranian women and the excellent capacity to use them in international interactions between the two countries in various fields of science, technology, health, sports, media, job creation and entrepreneurship, and the like.

According to Iran Press, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs called the appointment of the Islamic Republic of Iran to chair the committee on Promoting Women's Economic Empowerment in the Indian Ocean Rim (attributed to IORA) a unique opportunity to communicate effectively with member countries to improve the status and performance of women to boost synergy with the member states and invited South Africa as a member of this working group to cooperate in the programs proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The South African official also welcomed cooperation with Iran.

The two sides examined the various dimensions of cooperation between the two countries on women and family issues and emphasized the development of relations between the two countries.
