An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook the city of Sarjangal in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran).

Iran PressIran News: According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute, this earthquake occurred at 12:06:43 on Monday, May 23, 2022, with a magnitude of 5.5 at the epicenter of the earthquake has been 28.92 North and 59.99 East and the depth, 16 km of land. The disaster occurred in Sarjangal area of Zahedan city, 38 km from Sarjangal, 79 km from Hazrat Abolfazl Mosque and 86 km from Nokabad, Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran.

According to the Director General of Crisis Management of Sistan and Baluchestan Governorate, investigation and identification teams have been sent to the area for assessment of possible damages.
