Tehran (IP)- The Vice President of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce announced an increase of more than 60% in the volume of Iranian exports to Oman.

Iran PressIran News: Shahla Amouri, the vice-chairman of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, said Iran's exports to Oman in 2021 increased by 63% to $ 716 million.

Mrs. Amouri stated that in 2021, Iran's share of the Oman market was 3.9 percent, while in 2020, it was 1.8 percent.

The Vice President of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce added that if Iran and Oman's production and trade capacities are identified, there is a possibility of increasing the volume of exchanges.

Also, on the eve of the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al-Saeed, Sultan of Oman, issued a royal decree approving the agreement on maritime transport cooperation between Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will be in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on May 23 at the official invitation of Haitham bin Tariq al-Saeed, Sultan of Oman.

An official meeting at the Palace of Al Alam Palace, a bilateral meeting with the Sultan of Oman, the signing of several cooperation documents, and a meeting with Iranians living and Omani business people and economic activists are among the plans for the President's one-day visit to the country.

Raisi's visit to Muscat is the first visit of the President of Iran to the country after the new Sultan came to power.

A delegation of 50 Iranian businesspeople and economic activists traveled to Oman last week to pave the way for expanding economic and trade ties between the two countries.
