Tehran (IP) - The secretary of Iran's Supreme Council of Free Zones reported that it provided facilities to attract tourists to watch FIFA World Cup 2022 matches.

Iran PressIran news: The Qatar World Championships will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022. 

Saeed Mohammad in response to the Iran Press on cooperation with Qatar to host a part of the 2022 world cup's guests said that five-star hotels would be opened in Kish Island within the next two months.

Kish Island is at the top of the list of tourist destinations due to its many historical, natural and recreational attractions. As the 2022 Qatar World Cup nears, the Island has announced its readiness to host international guests for this important world event due to its proximity to Qatar.

Two cruise ships with a capacity of accommodating 150 and 300 passengers have entered Kish port, and three more ships are on the way, Mohammad told IP in a press conference.

He added: "The foreign flight terminal of Kish Airport with an annual capacity of 6 million passengers is under construction and we are taking other measures in this regard."

Regarding the construction of joint-free zones with neighboring countries, Mohammad said: "The memorandum of understanding for the construction of a joint free zone with Qatar, the construction of a joint free zone on the Nordoz border in the Aras free zone with Armenia and the construction of a joint free zone with Oman have been finalized." 

Russia, Syria, and the Iraqi Kurdistan region have expressed interest in establishing joint free zones.
