Tehran (IP) - After two years of recess due to the corona outbreak, a group of Japanese tourists kicked off their trip to Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The Secretary of the Iranian Consortium for Japanese and Korean Tourists said it was for the first time in two years a group of Japanese tourists traveled to Iran. 

Abasali Emamiyeh said Iran resumed visa issuance in the autumn of 2021 for the individual trips of the Japanese who entered the country for business goals or to visit their relatives. 

Emamiyeh also noted that the borders of Japan were yet closed to the Iranian tourists but might be opened by the coming summer. 

He expressed hope that the Embassy of Japan in Tehran would issue group visas so that the Iranian visitors could travel to Japan after the two-year recess.
