Iran Press/ Iran News: The Chief of Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police Majid Karimi said in a meeting with his Indian counterpart Satya Narayan Pradhan that the status quo of narcotics in the two countries and the region was discussed between the two sides.
Karimi said that the on-time exchange of information between the two countries and the cooperation in mutually extraditing the relevant convicts were discussed.
The two sides also agreed on police empowerment and the exchange of experiences between the two countries.
Indian director-general of the Indian Narcotics Control Bureau Satya Narayan Pradhan, for his part, said the growth of narcotics production and the many other problems due to the joint border with Afghanistan and Pakistan further clarifies the need for constructive interaction between the two countries.
He appreciated Iran's fight against narcotics.
Recently, Iran's border police commander announced the discovery and seizure of 1,600 kilograms of narcotics in the armed conflict between border guards and smugglers in southeastern the country.
