Army Cmdr:

Tehran (IP) - The Commander of Iran's Army warned that if the enemy tries or thinks of invading Iran, they will pay heavy and irreparable costs.

Iran Press/Iran News: On Thursday, Iran Army commemorated the 43rd anniversary of the former high-ranking military commander Lieutenant-General Mohammad-Vali Gharani in Tehran with Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in attendance. 

Lieutenant-General Mohammad-Vali Gharani was born in 1913 and from the beginning of his career in the army, he started working against the despotic US-backed Pahlavi regime.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said that the situation of the armed forces, including the Army, is such that the enemies are well aware they would never think of invading Iran and Iranians. 

Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Chief Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: "The enemies have come to believe that if they intend to invade Iran, they will incur very high irreparable costs with failure, and this is the strength of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

General Mousavi made the remarks on Wednesday on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony of Lieutenant General Mohammad Vali Qarani, the Chief of Staff of the Islamic Republic's Army.

He said: "The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran under command of the commander-in-chief of armed forces, Ayatollah Khamenei, day by day has increased its strength and readiness." 

With regard to the slogan of the year “Production: Knowledge-Based and Job-Creating” to be realized, General Mousavi noted that the army is ready to help people in order to further develop the country.

Mousavi pointed out that knowledge-based units in the army have started working and good news will be published in the near future.

"Armed Forces organizations are knowledge-based and they have to work with new and knowledge-based technology every day so that we could also contribute to the realization of the slogan of the year: “Production: Knowledge-Based and Job-Creating”.

Gharani served as the first Chief-of-Staff of the Iranian Army after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, from February 12, 1979, to March 27, 1979, when he was forced out. 

He was assassinated on 23 April 1979 by the Forqan terrorist outfit.
