Tehran (IP) -Burkina Faso's newly appointed foreign minister has called on Iran, as a country that has been plagued by terrorism for years, to share its experiences with a West African country.

Iran PressIran News:  According to Iran Press, on Tuesday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir- Abdollahian congratulated Burkina Faso's Foreign Minister Olivia Raghnaghnewende Rouamba on her appointment as the new Burkina Faso Foreign Minister and wished her success in his new position.

Referring to the importance of the African continent in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Amir- Abdollahian stressed Tehran's serious determination to expand relations with the African continent, including Burkina Faso.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold a joint commission for cooperation between the two countries.

In another part of the conversation, Amir- Abdollahian described the activities of extremist and Takfiri terrorists in the country and the West African region as worrying.

While congratulating each other on the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan, Olivia Roamba also expressed hope for expanding relations between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso, while expressing interest in expanding political-economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, called for the expansion of scientific-technical cooperation and receiving various assistance from Iran.
