Iran Press/ Iran News: The distance from Kish Island in the south of Iran to Qatar is 270 km. The travel time from this island to Doha by plane is about 40 minutes and by ship is five to six hours.
According to the Iran Press, Kish Island, with an area of 92 square kilometers and a population of 42,000, is one of the districts of Bandar Lengeh city in Hormozgan province and is located in the azure waters of the Persian Gulf.
"FIFA World CUP Qatar 2022 is of the most important events in the international arena and during the visit of the President "Seyed Ebrahim Raisi" to Qatar, Iran announces its readiness to support this event" , Rostam Ghasemi", the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, said on Saturday evening upon his arrival in Kish Island:
Ghasemi added: "According to the initial agreements during the president's meeting with Emir of Qatar in Doha, providing accommodation, air and sea transportation for passengers and tourists of the 2022 World Cup will be among Iran's agenda to support this event."
The Iranian Road Minister also said: "Kish Island will be the focus of Iran in supporting this event, but all coastal and non-coastal provinces close to the ever-present waters of the Persian Gulf can contribute to our country's role in the FIFA World CUP Qatar 2022.
The Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications, Jassim bin Saif al-Sulaiti, will arrive on Kish Island on Sunday to meet with Iranian officials.
The FIFA World CUP Qatar 2022 will start on November 21, 2022.
