IP- Iran's foreign trade in the calendar year 1400 (from March 21, 2021, to March 20, 2022) increased by 38%, reaching $100 billion compared to the previous year, the spokesman for Iran's customs said.

Iran PressIran News: 122 million tons of goods worth $48 billion were exported last year, which was $14 billion more than the previous year, showing a 41% growth. The number of imported goods in 1400 compared to the previous year had a 21 percent increase in weight and 36 percent in value.

The spokesman for Iran's customs Ruhollah Latifi says such an amount of export took place while Iran was under the most severe sanctions, the Economic News Network and (Shada) reported.

The spokesman for Iran's customs also announced that the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkey, Germany, and the Russian Federation were the five major exporters to Iran in 1400.

China, Iraq, Turkey, the UAE, and Afghanistan were also the five main destinations for Iranian exports, according to him.

Latifi also noted that the foreign goods passing through Iranian borders in 1400, after seven years, reached 12.5 million tons, showing a growth of 68%.

"62 million tons of goods were exchanged between Iran and other countries from across the world during the year 1400," he explained.

More than 40 million tons of goods worth $52 billion were imported into Iran, which mainly included commodities, raw materials, and production machinery, the spokesman highlighted.
