Iran Press/ Middle East: Meeting his Lebanese counterpart in Beirut Abdullah Bu Habib on Friday, Iran's Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed his dissatisfaction over the international community's inaction to what was going on in Afghanistan.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Beirut on Thursday afternoon and met senior officials of Lebanon, including Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran's explicit opposition to war as a solution to disputes, Amir-Abdollahian added: "We believe that political solutions should be at the center of efforts to resolve disputes."
The Iranian foreign minister expressed hope that the economic cooperation and trade exchanges of Iran and Lebanon would overcome the current difficult situation created by the US sanctions.
Lebanon's foreign minister Buhabib for his part welcomed Tehran-Riyadh talks as a regional development benefiting the region's countries, including Lebanon and Yemen:
"Iran-Saudi dialogue could provide an opportunity to help advance intra-Yemeni dialogue and resolve the crisis in that country."
Bu Habib criticized the Western countries for not paying attention to what is going on in Palestine and accused them of not fulfilling the promises they made to the Palestinians.
