Iran Press/ Middle East: Amirabdollahian who arrived in Beirut some hours ago also met with personalities and leaders of Palestinian groups based in Beirut.
He will discuss bilateral, regional, and international issues with senior Lebanese officials.
Iran ready to expand ties with Lebanon multilaterally
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that Tehran was ready to expand economic and business cooperation with Lebanon, including establishing two 1,000-megawatt power stations.
Amirabdollahian told reporters on arrival in Beirut that he would have meetings with senior Lebanese officials on bilateral, regional, and international issues later today.
He said that Iran and Lebanon should have more precise consultations because many developments have taken place both in the regional and international arenas since his previous trip to Beirut.
The foreign minister said that he has expressed Iran’s readiness to establish two 1,000-megawatt power stations in Lebanon in his meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian arrived in Beirut on Thursday afternoon to meet senior officials of Lebanon.
Amirabdollahian was welcomed by the chief of staff of Lebanon’s Parliament speaker and a member of the Lebanese Parliament.
He is in Beirut as the second leg of his regional tour which began in Syria this week.
During his visit to Syria, Amir Abdollahian met with President Bashar al-Assad, Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad, and Ali Mamlouk, the Syrian president's national security adviser.
