Beirut (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister announced Tehran's readiness to cooperate in meeting Lebanon's energy needs, including in the field of electricity and gas.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived in Lebanon yesterday (Thursday) for the second destination of his visit to the region after Syria.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, on Thursday afternoon to discuss issues of mutual interest at the bilateral, regional and international levels.

Referring to the lack of electricity in his country, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament said: "After the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled its promise to send fuel to Lebanon, the United States, despite pretending to make efforts to mobilize the gas transmission project, Lebanon's energy supply has not yet lived up to its promises."

Nabih Berri described Iran as the inspiration for resistance movements in the world.
