Iran Press/ Iran News: In a message to his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, on Sunday on the occasion of Nowruz, President Ebrahim Raisi pointed out that Nowruz is a symbol of value-oriented civilization.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers strengthening and expanding this cultural solidarity as a promise of peace and tranquility for all countries in the region and the world," Raisi added.
He noted that Iran extends a friendly hand to all countries in this regard.
Nowruz is one of the most significant Iranian events celebrated worldwide by Iranians and some other ethnic-linguistic groups (Tajik, Turkish, Afghan, etc.) as the beginning of the Persian New Year, which is accompanied by special rituals.
The roots of this traditional festival and its existence go back to pre-Achaemenid and Median times. After the advent of Islam, Nowruz remained a significant social tradition.
