Spox:
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh

Tehran (IP)-The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the UN's politicized and selective approach to human rights does not help improve it but further undermines it.

Iran PressIran news: In recent years, the UN rapporteur has been assigned to present undocumented reports, which are mainly improvised by individuals or groups opposing Iran.

In response to the UN Special Rapporteur's report on the situation of human rights in Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh said despite the fact that Iran rejected the rapporteur's mission and considered the Human Rights Council Resolution politicized, the country has always commented on the report, but always ignored the comments that were indicative of the bias in his mission.

The reports come as the high position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region for the fulfillment of the human rights obligation and international mechanisms is evident to all.

Pointing out that Iran rejected the West's double standards to human rights, Khatibzadeh stressed that the country would remain committed to supporting and improving Iranian human rights despite the US unilateral sanctions.

The recent reports are being released in the UN as Saudi Arabi, following its serial executions, beheaded 81 people in the country.

Since 2015 when a Saudi-led military coalition launched an all-out war on Yemen, tens of thousands of Yemenis, including numerous civilians, have been killed in the conflict while another 14 million are at risk of starvation, according to the UN.
