Vienna (IP) – Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations Based in Vienna says Russia is not blocking the agreement on the JCPOA restoration.

Iran PressEurope: Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

The eighth round of sanctions removal talks, which began in Vienna on December 27, now faces a halt.

In his Twitter account, Mikhail Ulyanov stated: "We observe a lot of speculations regarding “last-minute Russia’s demands at the final stage of the Vienna Talks” which allegedly block the agreement on restoration of the JCPOA."

"This is a lie, as I tweeted a number of times over the last week. Some demands were accepted, by the way," he underlined.

"Russia is one of Tehran's major trading partners and we want this trade to be maintained," Ulyanov said recently, noting that one of JCPOA's goals is to ensure Iran's legal trade with the world. 219
