Iran Press/ Europe: According to the official site of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, Kazem Gharibabadi continued his consultations on the sidelines of the 49th session of the Human Rights Council, which began on Monday, February 28 in Geneva, Switzerland, and met Namibian Minister of Justice Yvonne Dausab.
During the meeting, Dausab stated Namibia's principled stance against sanctions and unilateral coercive measures against developing countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, considered it as a violation of human rights as well as having a negative impact on the enjoyment of human rights.
Dausab also opposed the abuse of human rights as a political tool and action based on double standards, saying that the Human Rights Council should have a technical assembly to address the human rights situation far from politicization.
Gharibabadi, while referring to the improvement of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, explained the negative impact of unilateral coercive actions and terrorism on the enjoyment of human rights and the hypocritical approach of Western countries in claiming the protection of human rights of the Iranian people and criticized the unilateral and widespread human rights violations of the Iranian people.
The two sides also discussed issues of legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.
Gharibabadi meets with Sri Lankan Senior officials
Gharibabadi also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Gamini Lakshman Peiris, and Ali Sabry.
The two sides during the meeting also discussed the political and judicial structure and human rights developments between the two countries.
Gharibabadi stressed the need to strengthen the process of conceptualization by the Non-Aligned Movement and considered issues such as the need to respect cultural diversity and oppose unilateral coercive actions as essential achievements of the Non-Aligned Movement that should be strengthened.
It was decided to pursue ways to strengthen joint cooperation on human rights legal and judicial issues through diplomatic channels.
Iran asks NAM members to stand against Western approach of Human Rights Council
In another step, the Secretary of the I.R of Iran's High Council for Human Rights also attended the representatives of the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement and explained the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of human rights.
Gharibabadi in the meeting referred to the common challenges facing non-aligned countries, including unilateral coercion, terrorism and the selective and political approach of Western countries to human rights and the use of tools to exercise pressure on developing countries and members of the Non-Aligned Movement, and called on member countries to unite and take a principled stand against the Western approach of the Human Rights Council.
Referring to the adoption of a national resolution and the Special Rapporteur's mission against Iran under pressure from several Western countries, Gharibabadi called on non-aligned countries to continue their support for Iran and to oppose this political and selective approach of Western countries fundamentally.

During the meeting, the ambassadors and representatives of Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, and Syria also spoke and criticized the use of human rights as a tool, opposing politicization, selective behavior, and unilateral coercion against countries.
It is noteworthy that in this meeting, the ambassadors and representatives of 35 non-aligned countries, including India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Myanmar, Palestine, Laos, Pakistan, Bolivia, South Africa and Jordan participated.
