Tehran (IP) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman reiterated the country’s demand for guarantees in legal, political, and economic fields in the Vienna talks.

Iran PressIran News: Attending his weekly press conference on Monday, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that negotiations are going on regarding the guarantees required by Iran.

Referring to a statement issued yesterday by Iranian MPs which emphasized verification and necessary guarantees, Khatibzadeh noted that the Iranian negotiation team is following the maximum of these guarantees according to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

He added that Iran had had flexibility on necessary guarantees, though some of them have not been accepted by the United States; European parties insist on some guarantees to be accepted by the US.

“Negotiation around necessary guarantees are being followed, and if they would not meet properly, all of Iran’s programs are returnable,” Khatibzadeh said.

He also pointed out that negotiations are going on well in Vienna, and the remained issues are few but fundamental.

Referring to the Israeli prime minister’s statement that agreement in Vienna is reached soon but very weak, Khatibzadeh said these claims are psychological war and are said to Washington, not Iran.

“They are following their own interests and want to make their diplomatic steps meaningful,” he added.
