Tehran (IP)- High-level economic delegations from Iran and Uzbekistan, headed by the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade and Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, began their talks on Sunday evening in Tehran.

Iran Press/Iran news: A memorandum of understanding of the Joint Commission in the economy, investment, customs, transportation, energy, health, science and technology, culture, tourism, and agriculture will be signed.

At the beginning of the summit, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin and Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Omar Zakov stressed the need to expand comprehensive cooperation.

The meeting is underway behind closed doors.

Also, on the summit's sidelines, a conference on trade opportunities between the two countries will be held on Monday, February 21, at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.

Uzbekistan is one of the most crucial target countries for Iran's exports, and exports to the country have been growing in recent months.
