Tashkent (IP) - The head of Iran and Uzbekistan's parliamentary friendship group stressed the need to develop mutual relations in various economic sectors, transit, and Afghanistan.

Iran PressAsia: The head of the Iran-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezelje, has traveled to Uzbekistan upon an invitation by the country's head of the central commission for elections to supervise the presidential elections.

Iran's delegation held talks with the Chairman of the Uzbek legislative assembly Noureddine Jan Ismailov in Tashkent on Saturday.

Pointing to the need for parliamentary cooperation between the two states, Gholamreza Nouri stressed the development of relations between Iran and Uzbekistan in the economic and transit spheres and cooperation on Afghanistan issues.

The Iranian delegation also delivered Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf's invitation message to Ismailov.
