Tehran (IP) - Deputy Judiciary Chief for International Affairs and Secretary of Iranian Judiciary's Human Rights Council emphasized that the indictment for the assassination of the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) will be issued soon.

Iran PressIran News: The Deputy Judiciary Chief for International Affairs and Secretary of Iranian Judiciary's Human Rights Council, Kazem Gharibabadi said: "The Tehran prosecutor's office will prepare an indictment for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani in less than a month and a half and send it to the Ministry of Justice."

Gharibabadi announced that the third round of the meeting of the Joint Investigation Committee to investigate the assassination of Lieutenant General Soleimani and his comrades will begin tomorrow (Tuesday) for two days in Baghdad.

Gharibabadi has previously stated that three countries in the region and three countries outside the region are involved in the assassination of Lieutenant General Soleimani and the Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, adding: "The main perpetrator of this terrorist act is the American regime and a large number of defendants are Americans."

On January 3, 2020, the Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC),  Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, traveled to Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi authorities and was martyred in an airstrike by US terrorist forces at Baghdad Airport, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) and some of his comrades.
