Tehran (IP) - On the 5th day of Iran's 40th Fajr Film Festival, 'The Motherless,' directed by Morteza Fatemi, and produced by Mohammad-Reza Mesbah and Ali Oji, was screened.

Iran PressIran News: 'The Motherless' is a social drama narrating the quiet life of a couple, Amir Ali and his wife, where one of them insists on a decision, and then inadvertently engages in complex trials, dilemmas and moral hazards. 

The film tries to depict that one achieves nothing unless one loses something.

Amir Aghaee, Pejman Jamshidi, Mitra Hajjar and Ali Oji are starring in 'The Motherless'.

'The Motherless' comes from philosophical book

The director of 'The Motherless' movie screened on the 5th day of the 40th edition of the Fajr Film Festival says the name comes out of a philosophical book.

Morteza Fatemi said on Friday that the male antagonist of the film was chosen based on the moral parameters and that he was the most similar to the role. 

The producer of the movie Mohammad Reza Mesbah described the work as a sweet experience, expressing hope for good feedback. 

Also, the other producer Ali Oji said 'The Motherless' is a commemoration of the artists who passed away. 

Pardis Pourabedini, playing a female role, said: "It was difficult for me to accept the role, and of course, the hardships of the society made me empathize with the parents in the difficulties they are suffering from in the society."
