Vienna Talks progressed significantly: MFA spox

Iran PressIran news: On Jan. 28, 2022, while the eighth round of negotiations for the lifting of the US sanctions against Iran was underway in the Austrian capital, a recess was announced that based on the agreement reached between the Iranian negotiating delegations and the P4+1, the recess gives participants time to go back to their capitals for consultations with their respective governments.

Attending his weekly press conference, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated on Monday: "The talks are passing slowly because the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)'s signatories have not implemented their obligations."

Expressing hope that the talks would be accelerated, he noted: "If the US returns to the deal, it must act based on the JCPOA framework."

In response to a question about the Israeli president's visit to the UAE and Naftali Bennett's remarks against Iran, Khatibzadeh said: "Creating a crisis is in the nature of the fake regime, and the occupier of Al-Qods and the regime's life is only based on crisis, terror, violence, and bloodshed."

Israeli President Isaac Herzog traveled to UAE on Sunday. It was his first visit to the Persian Gulf country from the start of normalizing the relationship between the two sides.
