Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Judiciary says the decrease of criminal categories and prisoners is on the agenda of the body.

Iran PressIran news: In response to Iran Press reporter on Tuesday, Zabihollah Khodaeian said in his press conference that the Judiciary was to organize the crime categories so that it makes the area transparent for the people.

Khodaeian told IP correspondent that in many cases people were confused that what was a crime and what was not, due to the increased categories of crimes, so people did not recognize in which way they should act to not commit a crime.

The spokesman yet pointed out that the reduction did not mean that the crime categories leading to disturbing the peace and order of the society would be omitted.

He stressed that to be solved, the issue needs the cooperation of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament).

The Judiciary spokesman also pointed to the 6-month developmental performance of the body, noting caring about the prisoners and the Judiciary Chief's meeting with them were of the measures.
