Iran and Kuwait have agreed upon an exchange of citizens wanted by their respective authorities, Al-Rai reported.

Iran Press/Iran news: Al-Rai quoted Iran's ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Irani as saying the swap took place a week ago.

According to Iran's ambassador to Kuwait, an engineer accused of seizing $39.8 million (12 million dinars) was returned to Kuwait. In return, Kuwait extradited an Iranian citizen wanted by Interpol in connection with a fraud case in her native country.

Irani praised the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Iran and Kuwait have been implementing an extradition agreement since 2004. This allows Iranian prisoners in Kuwait and Kuwaiti inmates in Iran to return to their respective countries and complete their prison terms in their own countries.
