Iran Press/ Iran News: With the start of The Trilateral Combined Naval Exercise, Iranian, Chinese, and Russian submarine units moved to the North Indian Ocean and fired at predetermined targets.
The Trilateral Combined Naval Exercise, codenamed the "Maritime Security Belt 2022," with the participation of Iran, China, and Russia, started on Friday morning in the North Indian Ocean.
Rear-Admiral Mustafa Taj al-Dini, the spokesman for the exercise, said: "Floating units from Iran, China and Russia, under the command of the Iranian destroyer Jamaran, fired 20-mm caliber weapons at predetermined surface targets at sea."
The drill, whose main motto is "Together for Peace and Security," is now underway in the north of the Indian Ocean with the participation of marine and airborne units of the Iranian, Chinese, and Russian navies."
Mustafa Taj al-Dini said: "In the exercise, all kinds of tactical exercises will be performed with the presence of units from three countries."
The joint drills covered 17,000 square kilometers and consisted of various tactical exercises such as target practicing and rescuing ships from assault and incidents such as fires.
Late in December 2019, Iran, Russia, and China staged the first 'Marine Security Belt' exercise, a four-day joint maritime drill in the Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman area.
