Zabul (IP) - The police chief of Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran, announced the arresting of a drug trafficking gang in the south of the province.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri, the police chief of Sistan and Baluchestan province, stated: "An armed gang of drug traffickers was disbanded last night in the southern cities of the province."

Taheri added: "An armed smuggler was also killed in this armed operation."

Taheri pointed out that two smugglers were arrested in this operation; Also, one car and seven motorcycles were confiscated simultaneously.

He added that one ton and 199 kilograms of opium were seized during a search of confiscated equipment and a gun, along with some ammunition.
