Hormozgan (IP) – The police chief of Hormozgan Province announced the discovery of more than 1,529 kilograms of opium from smugglers in Parsian city.

Iran PressIran news: Second Brigadier General Gholamreza Jafari stated that the intelligence and operational teams of police had identified and monitored the members of a gang trying to transport the drug shipment.

He explained that the police officers of Parsian city identified a trailer transporting drugs to one of the cities of Fars Province and arrested the trailer and an accused person in this regard.

Seizing more than 950 tons of drugs, the Islamic Republic of Iran has had the highest rate of drug seizures globally in the past year despite harsh sanctions.
