Khartoum (IP) - The Sudanese Women's Movement staged mass demonstrations in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

Iran PressAfrica: Sudanese women took to the streets in western Khartoum on Tuesday evening at the request of Women's Movement, condemning the killing of their children by the military forces during a peaceful demonstration.

Sudanese people from all walks of life continue to take to the streets following the military coup in October 2021 and the subsequent signing of a political agreement between Army Chief-Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Prime Ministe Abdalla Hamdok, calling for an end to the military rule in Sudan and the formation of a civilian government.

Army Chief-Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Abdalla Hamdok signed a political agreement on November 21, 2021, to bring Hamdok back to power, which, like the military coup in Sudan, has faced with widespread opposition.

The escalation of popular protests against the agreement between al-Burhan and Prime Minister Hamdok eventually led to Hamdok's resignation.
