Azerbaijani FM:

Baku (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan said that Proposals from Iran for the reconstruction of Nagorno-Karabakh were made, assessed and one of them has been evaluated positively.

Iran PressAsia: In a joint press conference held between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Bayramov said in response to a question raised by Iran Press correspondent on Iran-Azerbaijan economic cooperation and the reconstruction of Nagorno-Karabakh after the 44-day war: "Iran's contribution in the reconstruction and restoration of Nagorno-Karabakh was one of the issues raised today, and the scale of Iran's activities in the reconstruction of this region will expand."

Jeyhun Bayramov added: "Exchange of experience and reduction of transportation costs will create comparative advantages in Nagorno-Karabakh region."

He also said that Iran has announced its readiness to send a delegation to the region in the field of minesweeping.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, announcing his readiness to attract investors and give the necessary concessions to Iranian companies, said: "Companies on both sides can benefit from the capacities of Aras."

Referring to the historical and cultural background of Iran and Azerbaijan, he added: "Today, we had various meetings and talks toward the cooperation between the two countries."

"Iran and Azerbaijan can increase their bilateral regional cooperation bilaterally and multilaterally in the region," Jeyhun Bayramov said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan added: "The volume of transactions between the two countries has increased by 1.5 percent compared to last year, and this cooperation will also increase with the visit of Mr. Rostam Ghasemi in January."

Referring to the formation of a new government in Iran in recent months, he said: "Many joint projects between the two countries have been completed, some have begun and a gas document has been signed, which will be implemented from January 2022."

Referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute, he called it a threat to the region and added that this occupation and violation of international law was ended.

Referring to Iran's participation in 3+3 format cooperation mechanism the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister called it important in the region and added that Iran was one of the first countries to welcome this initiative.
