Tehran (IP) - Iranian foreign minister and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan met and discussed issues of bilateral interest.

Iran PressAsia: During a visit to Baku on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with the Republic of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev.

Emphasizing the need to take further steps to develop relations in all political, economic, trade and cultural spheres, the Ilham Aliyev said: "The agenda of bilateral cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan is expansive, and I am confident that this cooperation will have good results."

Referring to the meeting between the Presidents of Azerbaijan Republic and Iran in the capital of Turkmenistan, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called the meeting a turning point and a serious momentum in the relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries.

Today (Wednesday), the Iranian foreign minister arrived in Baku for a one-day visit, during which he is also scheduled to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Iranian FM pays tribute to martyrs of 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Iranian foreign minister paid tribute to the 1st and 2nd Nagorno-Karabakh War martyrs during his visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Iran Press, Hossein Amir-Abdolhian said during the visit: "We pay tribute to all the martyrs of the first and second wars of Nagorno-Karabakh and we hope to see the liberation of all occupied Palestinian lands and the formation of a unified Palestinian government."
