Bandar Abbas (IP) - IRGC Deputy Chief of Operations announced the start of the joint exercise of the Great Prophet (PBUH) 17 on Monday morning, December 20, in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the coasts of Hormozgan, Bushehr and Khuzestan provinces.

Iran PressIran News: The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Deputy Chief of Operations and Spokesman for the "Great Prophet 17" joint drills, Brigadier-General Abbas Nilforoushan, announced the commencement of the drills and stated: "From today, the drills will be held for five days on the shores of the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the general area of Hormozgan, Bushehr and Khuzestan provinces with the participation of units of the IRGC's ground, naval, and aerospace forces, as well as some units of the Basij."

He noted that the drills began with the holy code "Ya Fatemeh Al-Zahra" and the slogan "active and intelligent authority, security and deterrence in the shadow of unity, empathy, and national integrity" to increase IRGC's combat readiness by using the most advanced equipment and tactics to deal with perceived threats and combined wars.

He pointed out that the drills would deal with different threats that have the characteristics of synchronicity, coherence and entanglement in soft, semi-hard and hard areas for the first time.

Referring to the diversity and multiplicity of participating forces and units, Brigadier-General Nilforoushan stated: "The training to deal with different kinds of threats that have the characteristics of synchronicity, coherence and entanglement in soft, semi-hard and hard areas will be operational for the first time in this exercise."
