Iran, Iraq confer on prisoners swap

Baghdad (IP) -The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad discussed issues of mutual interest with the Iraqi Minister of Justice, including extradition of convicts and prisoners swap.

 Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran Press on Saturday Iraj Masjedi visited the Iraqi Ministry of Justice and met with the Iraqi Minister of Justice, Salar Abdul Sattar Mohammed, and the two sides discussed issues of interest.

In this meeting, the extradition of convicts and prisoners swap between the two countries were discussed.

The Iraqi side announced its readiness to extradite prisoners who have passed the legal process and are recognized as eligible by the competent centers of the country.

At this meeting, the two sides agreed that a similar procedure should be applied to Iranian prisoners in prisons in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
