Ashgabat (IP) - The Iranian Foreign Minister praised the Tehran-Baku cooperation in various political, economic, cultural, media spheres.

Iran PressAsia: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met on Saturday night on the sidelines of the 15th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and exchanged views on topics of interest to the two countries.

In response to the appreciation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the positive vote of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its election to the UNESCO Executive Council, the Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated the Republic of Azerbaijan on its membership in the Council and emphasized international cooperation between the two countries.

Expressing satisfaction with the positive developments in Baku-Tehran relations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the importance of the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iran.

The situation of Afghan refugees due to the recent developments in the country and the description of the latest developments related to the Vienna talks on lifting sanctions on Iran are other topics of discussion between the Iranian Foreign Minister and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
