In a phone conversation, Iran's Foreign Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed bilateral relations and the holding of the ECO Summit in Ashgabat.

Iran PressIran News: In this telephone conversation, Hossein Amir Abdollahian extended the greetings of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, and announced his readiness to assist in the successful holding of the ECO Summit in Ashgabat.

Referring to the participation of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, at the ECO Summit, Amir Abdollahian described the event as an opportunity to discuss mutual issues of interest.

Referring to the above-mentioned economic conference with the presence of senior economic officials of ECO member countries, and economic meetings at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry,  Raşit Meredow appreciated the active presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in these meetings.

The Turkmen Foreign Minister expressed hope that these meetings will be more fruitful in order to develop and expand relations and cooperation among the countries of the region.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ibrahim Raisi, will leave for Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, next Saturday at the official invitation of his Turkmen counterpart to attend the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

At the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Iran's President will explain the Islamic Republic of Iran's policy and propositions regarding the invigoration of regional and international relations, and especially removing obstacles and increasing the level of cooperation and economic ties of ECO members countries.

During this trip, Raisi will also meet with his counterparts participating in the summit and will discuss ways to develop and deepen bilateral relations. Meeting with businessmen and Iranians living in Turkmenistan is another program listed in Iran President's schedule. 

The 15th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be hosted by Turkmenistan next Sunday.

The Economic Cooperation Organization or ECO is an Asian political and economic intergovernmental organization that was founded in 1985 in Tehran by the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.
