Tehran(IP): The freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions of the 35th CISM World Military Wrestling Championships officially ended in Tehran on Thursday.

Iran PressIran News: According to Iran Press News Agency, senior Iranian military officials were present at the closing ceremony of the tournament, which was held in the 12,000-seat stadium of Tehran's Azadi Sports Complex.

In this ceremony, cups and championship medals of the top teams in both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines were awarded.

In the team section of the freestyle wrestling competitions, the teams of Russia, Iran and Armenia, and in the Greco-Roman section, the teams of Iran, Russia and Armenia were in the first to third places.

At the end of the final ceremony Brigadier-General Hossein Ashtari, Commander of the Iranian Police Force, told reporters: "The Iranian Police Force did a good plan to hold the CISM wrestling competition."

The commander of the Iranian Police Force added: "This force is ready to host CISM competitions in other sports disciplines."

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency about CISM wrestling competitions, 2nd Brigadier-General Jamshid Fouladi, Head of Physical education of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, also said: "Due to the presence of powerful teams of the world, quality competitions were held."

The head of physical education of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces added: "Colonel Fernando, the representative of CISM, was satisfied with Iran's hosting of the event."
