Islamabad (IP) - Iranian Cultural Counsellor in Pakistan donated 200 books to Pakistani libraries on Book Week.

Iran PressAsia: Ehsan Khazaei, the Iranian Cultural Counsellor in Pakistan, said: "As the 29th Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran approaches, the Iranian Cultural Counsellor in Islamabad has donated more than 200 titles of selected books to Pakistan libraries."

Ehsan Khazaei added: "These books with different subjects of Iranology, Persian language, literature, introduction of celebrities, history, literature and poetry were donated to the National Library and seven prestigious public and specialized libraries of universities and cultural and scientific centers of Pakistan."

Iranian Cultural Counselor in Pakistan, also as a representative of the National Library of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with the Director of the National Library of Pakistan (NLP) and donated these 200 books to supplement Iranian resources and enrich the reserves of the National Library of Pakistan.

In this meeting, Khazaei emphasized the important position of the National Library as a reference for the culture and intellectuals of any society and pointed to the high capacity of the National Library of Iran, especially in the field of preservation and restoration of manuscripts and other areas of cooperation. 

During the book donation ceremony, the NLP Director thanked the Iranian Cultural Counselor for developing relations between the National Library of Iran and Pakistan and thanked the Iranian Cultural Counselor for donating the mentioned works and scientific resources.

The Director of NLP also announced the readiness of this library to cooperate with the National Library of the Islamic Republic of Iran in areas of mutual interest.
