Iran, UAE discuss ways to increase cooperation

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian and UAE Foreign Ministers discussed issues of mutual interest to increase bilateral and regional cooperation in a phone conversation on Thursday.

Iran PressIran News: The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a phone conversation with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noted the importance of bilateral relations between Tehran and Abu-Dhabi for the region, expressed hope for the improvement of mutual economic and trade ties.

According to Iran's Foreign Ministry, Amir-Abdollahian asked for the facilitation of mutual financial transaction procedures to expand trade relations and expressed hope that with the cooperation of two governments, the problems in economic ties would be resolved.

Iranian diplomat described his counterpart's visit to Syria as a positive step to reduce tension in the region.

Amir-Abdollahian referred to the priority of neighbors for the Iran government and stressed the need to strengthen Iran- UAE dialogue and cooperation.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Foreign Minister, stressed that efforts to resolve financial relations are being made.

Sheikh Zayed emphasized Abu Dhabi's intention to expand cooperation and relation with Iran in the bilateral and regional issues as well as environmental protection and climate change.

At the end of the talks, the two foreign ministers extended invitations to visit their respective countries.
