Kenya intend long-run investment in Chabahar

Chabahar (IP) - The Speaker of Kenya's Muranga County Assembly says the country is trying to establish a sustainable long-run trade in Iran's Chabahar free trade zone, southeast of the country.

Iran PressIran news: For the time being the Kenyan traders aimed to invest in tea and coffee, and later on other products, Leonard Nduati Kariuki said on Friday in a meeting with the economic managers and activists of Chabahar Free Zone. 

Kariuki mentioned the shore-up of trade ties between Muranga and Chabahar Port city as the aim of the Kenyan delegation trip to Iran, noting: "The dream of boosting trade relations is being realized, therefore, a delegation of businessmen joined us to review trade and investment issues in the region and talk to Chabahar traders."

"We came to Chabahar because we know that the Chabahar Free Zone has a strategic position in West Asia," he said.

Mohammad Hodaee, Deputy Head of Chabahar Free Zone Organization for Economy and Investment said for his part that in Chabahar Free Zone, the capabilities of the traders would be assessed and then facilities would be provided.
