Iranian boxer advances to World Championships quarterfinals

The Iranian runner-up in Asian boxing advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Championships by defeating the Kyrgyz boxer.

Iran PressEurope: Following the World Boxing Championships on Sunday evening, Danial Shahbakhsh (60 kg) competed against Kyrgyzstan's Monarbek Sitbek and won all three rounds with a score of 5:0.

The Asian boxing runner-up reached the quarter-finals with this victory and will fight against Edgars Skrodelis from Lithuania in the top eight.

Shahbakhsh had previously won against opponents from the Gambia and Mexico.

The World Boxing Championships started on Monday last week in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and will continue until November 6, 2014.
