The third meeting of the Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee was held today (Tuesday, October 26, 2021) at the central building of the Ministry of Petroleum.

Iran PressIran News: Talking about the focus of the meeting, the  Director- General for Europe, America and Caspian Sea Neighbors in Iran's Ministry of Petroleum Hossein Esmaeili said: "The Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee can play an effective role in expanding relations with other European countries."

“Renewable energies, increasing efficiency and productivity and reducing energy intensity, transfering new technologies and the cooperation of the German public and private sectors with the Ministries of Petroleum, Energy and their affiliates were the most important topics discussed at the meeting,” said Esmaeili.

He said that in this working committee, representatives of BMWI, GIZ, Dena, German Ministry of Economy and Energy and the representative of the German Embassy in Tehran along with representatives of Iran's Presidential Transformation and Development Cooperation Center, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Energy, SATBA and Fuel Consumption Optimization Company examined ways of cooperation between the two countries.

“It was decided that the delegations of the two sides, within the framework of the agreements reached, follow up on the issues considered and plan to hold the fourth energy committee,” he added.

Hossein Esmaeili chaired the Iranian delegation, and Ms. Ursula Borak, Deputy Director-General for International Energy of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy, chaired the German delegation.

The first meeting of the Iran-Germany Joint Energy Committee was held in Iran on October 24 and 25, 2017, hosted by the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum.
