Tehran (IP) – Turkmen foreign minister says Iran and Turkmenistan move forward and develop relations in all areas.

Iran PressIran News: Turkmen Foreign Minister Raşit Meredow, who traveled to Tehran to attend a meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors, participated at a joint press conference on Tuesday after meeting his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollabian.

He noted that Turkmenistan and Iran, as two neighboring and brotherly countries, were developing relations and cooperating in various fields.

“In today’s talks, we emphasized developing relations, cooperation, and consultations between the two countries, on political and diplomatic issues,” he said.

“We decided to hold talks in an organized manner and continue negotiations in Ashgabat and Tehran,” he added.

“Issues of mutual interest were raised and consular issues were examined. We discussed developing trade relations and raise trade volume to the highest level,” Meredow said.

He announced Turkmenistan’s readiness to cooperate with Iran in energy, transport, transit, water, and trade.
