Tehran (IP) - After a 20-month halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Friday Prayers rituals were resumed in Tehran and many provinces of Iran.

Iran PressIran news: With cross-national vaccination carried out in Iran and with the approval of the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus, Friday Prayers were performed led by Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Javad Haj Ali-Akbari at the University of Tehran.

The resumption of the Islamic event coincided with the Unity Week among the Muslim Ummah.

In his sermons, Tehran Friday Prayers leader addressed the unity of the Muslims and stressed it as a strategy and foundation.  

"The most important issue among the Muslim Ummah is the unity of their ranks, souls, hearts and thoughts, which is interpreted in one word as brotherhood," he pointed out. 

Tehran Friday Prayers have been suspended since the beginning of March 2019 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
