Tehran (IP) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement, condemned the terrorist attack on the Fatemieh Mosque in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran news: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced in a statement on Friday: Once again, the hands of the enemies of Islam came out of the hands of Takfiri terrorists and martyred another group of oppressed people of Afghanistan during Friday prayers.

The statement said that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the terrorist attack by Takfiri terrorists on the Fatemieh Mosque in Kandahar, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a large number of participants in Friday prayers, and offers condolences to the families of the martyrs and the dear people of Afghanistan.

"We once again warn against the divisive conspiracies of the enemies of the Islamic Ummah and emphasize the need for the unity of Shia and Sunni and the denial of violence and extremism in the name of Islam," the statement said.

"This tragic incident, and the tragic events of the past, including the previous attack on worshipers in Kunduz, further highlight the need to increase vigilance and redouble the protection of Shia and Sunni religious centers and other gatherings in Afghanistan," the statement said.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is confident that the Muslim brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, with empathy and cooperation, will thwart the divisive conspiracies of their enemies.
