Tehran (IP): The police commander of Kerman province in southern Iran announced on Wednesday evening the martyrdom of three officers of this province in a clash with drug traffickers.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier General Abdolreza Nazeri announced that following armed clashes between drug traffickers and anti-narcotics officers in Kerman province on Wednesday evening, in the Hosseinabad neighborhood of Kahnooj city of this province, 3 law enforcement officers of the Islamic Republic Iran were martyred.

Brigadier General Nazeri added: "In this conflict, the ringleaders of the recent atrocities and the big drug trafficker in the eastern and southern provinces of Iran were killed by the police of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Kahnooj with significant amounts of drugs being seized.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, as the front line in the fight against drug trafficking in the world, has sacrificed more than 3,000 martyrs.

The United Nations has named Iran the flagbearer of the fight against drugs.
