Tehran(IP)- Iran’s police chief says smart police can definitely increase security.

Iran PressIran News: In response to Iran Press, Brigadier-General Hossein Ashtari added that fortunately there was no problem in maintaining security in the borders.

Ashtari said: "Iranian police are fully equipped to observe the borders against any threats."

Commemorating Police Week, the official highlighted that Iranian police maintained and protected people's lives, properties and, more importantly, their security with sacrifice.

According to Ashtari, police have been monitoring the country's borders round-the-clock.

The top official highlighted: "The Iranian police also fully maintained the security of Iran's 13th Presidential Election, which many tried to make sabotage."

The police chief stressed that smart police could increase more services to people.

"After the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution, the country's police have gained promising achievements, one of which is smart police, and a part of those achievements will be displayed this week," he said.

Many countries' individuals left Afghanistan with humiliation despite development and hi-tech equipment,  Brigadier-General Ashtari said.

"We carry out utmost efforts to maintain, and protect the country's security," Ashtari outlined, noting, "We are trying to train our police to be more professional, and smart to safeguard the country's security.

"The police have a duty to protect social, economic, political, and public security," the commander said.
